Although I mostly agree with your point, as far as I know, Teams and VS Code were launched way before MAUI or even .Net core, so Microsoft couldn't have used what did not exist.

Meanwhile, the full-blown Visual Studio UI is coded (or used to be, at least) coded in WPF as far as I know.
