Don't be embarrassed of saying that. Java was a great technology back in the day and one of the mainstream pioneers of a strong "foundation" to develop software upon (as opposed to the C/C++ way of rolling your own).

We use things such as .net and docker today because the world saw, through Java, the benefit of pushing hard tasks to the "foundation" and leaving the trivial part to the average developer.
